Myanmar resistance forces take seven junta prisoners in convoy attack in Sagaing Region

Regime troops faced a decisive ambush, with resistance groups seizing weapons, capturing prisoners, and escalating clashes in Sagaing Region

Resistance forces ambushed a junta supply convoy on January 9 in Ayadaw Township, Sagaing Region, capturing seven prisoners of war and seizing a stockpile of firearms and ammunition, according to local sources.The junta supply convoy, which consisted of seven trucks, had departed earlier that morning from the Northwestern Regional Military Command (RMC) headquarters in Monywa. Once it arrived in Ayadaw, various resistance groups launched an attack on the convoy, overwhelming the junta soldiers.On January 10, the National Unity Government (NUG)’s No. 1 Military Region released a statement, accompanied by photo evidence confirming the capture of five trucks, firearms, and a large stockpile of ammunition. Monywa’s People’s Defence Force battalions, the Ayadaw Township People’s Defence Team (PDT), and other local resistance groups operating in the area carried out the ambush.
