Deaf brothers shot dead by Myanmar junta troops in Magway’s Natmauk Township

A drone attack on a monastery also left another man dead and seriously injured a novice monk

Junta troops killed three civilians, including two deaf brothers, in Magway Region’s Natmauk Township this week, a local resistance group said.

The brothers were herding cattle near the village of Kyeekan when they encountered a column of regime soldiers on Wednesday, according to the Natmauk People’s Defence Organisation (PDO).

“One was completely deaf and the other couldn’t speak, so they didn’t avoid [the junta soldiers]. They ran into the column and were both shot in the head,” said A Seik Thee, a PDO commander.

The victims were identified as Han Myint, 40, and Win Myint, 38. . .
