
Junta attacks killed at least six people, including a 10-year-old girl, near the Karenni (Kayah) State capital Loikaw on Friday, according to the Karenni Human Rights Group (KHRG).
Four of the victims were killed by shelling in Loikaw Township, while two others died in airstrikes carried out in neighbouring Pekhon Township, in southern Shan State, the group said.
“Three people died in Noe Koe and one in Tha Yet Pin at around 3:30pm on Friday,” said KHRG director Banyar Khun Aung, referring to two villages located a few miles northwest of Loikaw.
Local sources told Myanmar Now that at least six others were injured in Noe Koe. The victim in Tha Yet Pin was identified as a 10-year-old girl.
There were also reports that junta troops are holding positions in Htay Ngha Hlar, a village located on the western outskirts of Loikaw near Loikaw. . .
