Myanmar air force kills six in bombing near Magway Region oil fields

The regime also continued airstrikes in Nawnghkio Township, on the frontline of its conflict with the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), despite having declared the extension of a ceasefire until the end of May

A junta aerial assault struck a restaurant on Tuesday evening in a resistance-held area of Magway Region, killing at least six people including four resistance fighters, according to local sources. 

“The aircraft dropped bombs directly on a small eatery near a school at around 5:30pm, striking without hovering or circling beforehand,” a man from a nearby village said. 

The village of Ba Hin, where the bombing took place, is 16 miles northwest of the junta-controlled town of Myaing, located in an oil-rich part of Magway Region and near operational oil fields. 

Local sources said there was neither a resistance base in the village nor any fighting in the area at the time of the air force’s attack. 

The four resistance fighters killed in the junta bombing raid were members of Battalion 12 of the People’s Defence Forces (PDF) based in. . .
