The deputy chief of Myanmar's military regime has travelled to China to participate in a forum on regional and global security, according to junta-controlled state media.
Admiral Tin Aung San, the regime’s deputy prime minister and minister of defence, left on Wednesday with a delegation of high-ranking military officials to attend the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, the Global New Light of Myanmar reported.
The forum, taking place from September 12 to 14, is expected to draw over 500 representatives from more than 90 countries, including at least 30 defence ministers.
The United States is expected to be represented by Michael Chase, deputy assistant secretary of defence, according to Reuters.
