Chin resistance forces seize Myanmar army camp in Tedim

The move comes as junta forces continue an ongoing offensive to reclaim resistance-held areas of Chin State

Chin resistance forces seized control of a Myanmar army camp located just outside of the northern Chin State town of Tedim on Wednesday, according to groups involved in the operation.

The camp, situated near the sign marking the entrance to the town, came under attack at around 8am and fell several hours later, sources said.

Around 60 junta troops were stationed at the camp, which controlled traffic entering and leaving the town. Several regime soldiers were killed and two were captured, an officer with the People’s Defence Force (PDF) Zoland told Myanmar Now.

“We took prisoners of war and also captured weapons and ammunition, including RPG rounds. The prisoners will be handed over to the relevant authorities for interrogation,” the officer said.

The exact number of dead and wounded on the junta’s side was not known, he added. There were no reported resistance casualties.
