Junta airstrikes kill elderly woman and other civilians in Pale Township

Fighting intensifies in Sagaing Region as anti-regime forces close in on military positions

An elderly woman was killed and three others were injured when a junta warplane bombed civilian areas in Pale Township on Thursday evening, according to a local humanitarian team aligned with the National Unity Government (NUG).Sources say the Myanmar military launched multiple airstrikes in response to ongoing resistance attacks on remaining junta outposts in Pale Township, Sagaing Region.“An elderly woman from Hnget Pyaw Taw village was killed and three more injured in Kyay Tha Hmyar Village at around 5:20 pm yesterday,” a NUG’s administrator said. 

The junta is deploying warplanes to defend its last two bases in Pale Township after anti-regime forces captured a key outpost in Kant Daunt village on Thursday, local resistance sources said.The assault was led by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), which is now coordinating with the All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF), the Burma Liberation Democratic Front. . .
