At least nine killed in junta airstrike on busy market in Myanmar’s Mandalay Region

Two children were among the victims of the attack, which targeted a village about 50 miles north of Myanmar’s second-largest city

At least nine people, including two children, were killed in a daylight airstrike carried out by a junta jet fighter on a crowded market in Mandalay Region on Friday.

The attack targeted Let Pan Hla, a village located about 50 miles north of the city of Mandalay and five miles east of Singu, a town that was captured by resistance forces under the command of the National Unity Government (NUG) in July of last year.

According to local witnesses, a jet fighter was seen circling the village three times before launching the strike on the bustling market.

The victims included seven adults and two children—a five-year-old and an infant—while several others sustained injuries.Myanmar’s military has carried out numerous attacks on Singu Township. . .
